Our Neighborhood
Rooted in Crosbie Heights and Owen Park
CH|OP Grocer is located at 1301 W. Archer Street, just west of downtown Tulsa.
Our name comes from the two neighborhoods closest to our roots:
CH for Crosbie Heights
OP for Owen Park
These communities inspired CH|OP and remain central to who we are. But our neighborhood extends far beyond two boundary lines.
We also serve neighbors from Easton Heights, Skyline Ridge, The Heights, Gilcrease Hills and the many nearby streets and communities surrounding west downtown Tulsa. We welcome the people who live here, work downtown, ride the trails, attend nearby events and travel through this connected part of the city.
A Neighborhood at the Center of Tulsa
Our building sits in a unique location between residential neighborhoods, downtown Tulsa, the river and some of the city’s most-used trails.
We are only minutes from the BOK Center and other downtown destinations, making CH|OP an easy stop before an event, during the workday or on the way home.
We are also just off the Katy Trail and near connections to River Parks. Walkers, runners, commuters and bicyclists regularly travel through the area, connecting the neighborhoods west of downtown with the river and the rest of the city.
CH|OP is close enough to downtown to be convenient, but rooted in the residential neighborhoods that surround it.
Tulsa’s Cycling Community
Cycling is already part of daily life at CH|OP.
We regularly welcome bicyclists training for Tulsa Tough, along with local bike clubs that stop during group rides. Riders come in to refill water, grab coffee, pick up a snack, cool down and rest before continuing their route.
Our location near the Katy Trail, River Parks and streets used by Tulsa’s cycling community makes CH|OP a natural place to stop and refuel.
Whether someone is training for a race, riding with a club, commuting, exploring the trails or simply enjoying the neighborhood by bike, they are welcome here.
We want CH|OP to be a dependable stop for Tulsa’s cycling community throughout the year—not only during race season.
Different Neighborhoods, Shared Needs
The communities around CH|OP include people from different generations, cultures, backgrounds and income levels.
There are longtime residents and new neighbors, families and individuals, homeowners and renters, artists, business owners, downtown employees, students, retirees and people who have helped shape this part of Tulsa for decades.
Each neighborhood has its own history and identity, but one need connects them: access to fresh, affordable and useful food close to home.
This area has long been considered a food desert, with limited access to full-service grocery stores. For many residents, an ordinary grocery trip has required traveling outside the neighborhood.
CH|OP was created to help close that gap.
Our goal is to bring produce, pantry staples, prepared foods, coffee, local products and everyday essentials back into the neighborhood so that shopping close to home becomes easier.
A Community That Loves to Grow and Share Food
Limited grocery access does not mean this community lacks a strong food culture.
Quite the opposite.
Our neighbors garden. They grow vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers in backyards, raised beds and containers. They exchange seeds and plants, share recipes, preserve family traditions and take pride in feeding the people they care about.
There is a deep appreciation here for fresh food, local food and knowing where food comes from.
That resourcefulness and knowledge were here long before CH|OP opened. Our role is not to define the neighborhood or tell people what they need. Our role is to listen, respond and make it easier for people to access the food and products that are useful to them.
We want to support the culture of gardening, cooking, sharing and caring for one another that already exists throughout these neighborhoods.
A Grocery Store for the Whole Neighborhood
CH|OP is designed to serve both the people who live nearby and those moving through the area.
A neighbor may stop in for produce, milk or something for dinner. A downtown employee may grab coffee or lunch. A cyclist may refill a water bottle and pick up a snack. A family headed to the BOK Center may stop before an event. A visitor may discover a product made in Tulsa or elsewhere in Oklahoma.
Some customers come from a few doors away. Others arrive from Easton Heights, Skyline Ridge, The Heights, Gilcrease Hills, downtown Tulsa or along the trail.
All of them contribute to the life of the store.
We want CH|OP to feel practical, welcoming and connected—a place where people can complete an everyday errand, discover something new and run into someone they know.
Shop Your Block
Our name will always represent Crosbie Heights and Owen Park, the two communities at our foundation.
But our doors are open to the entire neighborhood.
CH|OP is here to improve access to fresh food, support local makers and growers, strengthen the neighborhood economy and create a gathering place that belongs to the community around it.
